A memory game where the questions come from your own life
A classic memory game tests short-term recall: flip two cards, remember where the pair was. PicEra tests something different and, for most people, far more interesting — how accurately you remember when things happened.
Every round shows a photo. You place it in time by choosing a month and a year. The closer you land, the more points and XP you earn.
How a round works
The photo appears full screen. You set a year and a month, submit, and the game shows how far off you were together with the score for that round. There is no trick to it and no hidden metadata reveal mid-round: it is your memory against the picture.
Playing with your own photos
Because the photos come from your own camera roll, the difficulty curve is personal. A wedding is easy. A random Tuesday walk from four years ago is not. That gap is where the game lives.
On the web you can only read about it; in the app you grant photo access once and PicEra picks the rounds locally. Decline access and the game runs on built-in demo photos instead.
Modes, streaks and progression
The Daily Challenge is five rounds you can play once per rolling 24-hour window, and finishing it keeps your streak alive. Photo Quiz turns the same idea into fast multiple-choice rounds. The Uncertainty Challenge hides the photo behind a blur that you hold to sharpen.
Correct guesses feed an XP and level system, and badges mark milestones — nailing an exact month, covering several decades, or clearing every mode.

Privacy, in plain terms
Photos, scores, streaks and credits stay in local storage on the device. There are no accounts, no cloud uploads and no location tracking. The only network calls the app makes are for purchases, handled through the App Store and its billing provider.

No. Instead of matching cards, you place real photos in time by guessing the month and year they were taken.
Do I have to use my own photos?
