A visual memory game about recognising your own moments
Visual memory is the part of recall that works on images rather than words — the reason you can recognise a room instantly but struggle to describe it.
PicEra leans on exactly that. You look at a picture, notice what is in it, and use those details to decide when it happened.
Reading a photo for time
The visual work happens before you touch the date picker. Light and foliage suggest a season. Clothing, devices and haircuts suggest a year. A single object in the background can collapse a five-year range into a five-month one.
The Uncertainty Challenge
This mode makes the visual side explicit. The photo starts blurred and sharpens only while you hold your finger down, so every extra second of clarity costs you. Entering the mode costs 3 credits.
It rewards recognising a scene from very little — often a colour palette and a shape are enough for a photo you took yourself.
Progression
Rounds award XP based on accuracy, XP raises your level, and badges track breadth: exact hits, coverage across decades and clearing every mode.
An honest note
PicEra is entertainment. It is not a clinical tool and makes no claim to improve memory, diagnose anything or train cognition. It is a game about pictures you already care about.
